Toast
Connect kea AI to Toast POS to send orders directly to your point-of-sale and kitchen.
First make sure you are logged into your kea account at app.kea.ai. When entering your account on the Brand Overview, click the first location you would like to connect. Make sure your locations have an address added.
This setup takes around 5-10 minutes. Once connected, any updates to your Point-of-Sale system will automatically sync with our menu application, ensuring the AI has the latest information.
Location Overview
On the Location Overview, at the bottom right of the page, you will see a section called Location Menu.
Click “Connect Menu Source” and a modal will appear letting you know that you are going to connect via our menu application. Click “Connect” to proceed.
Menu Application
When inside the menu application, you will see the option to “Connect POS”.
Select Toast as your Point-of-Sale you would like to connect.
From here, follow the integration steps on the screen. You can map the Toast Location you would like to connect.
Click to the second step using the “Next” button to get the Merchant ID.
Copy the Merchant ID which looks like the below.
Next log into Toast:
Inside Toast, on the left rail at the bottom, find the Integrations option.
Click Browse integrations and search from Stream and add integration.
Once Stream is added the integration will show into your integration list.
Edit the Stream integration so you paste the Merchant ID in the Group ID for Stream. Save the integration and publish changes in Toast.
Next for Step 3 in kea: Go inside Toast, go to your Menu Builder by clicking the Menu tab.
Click “Menu Builder”.
For Menus you would like kea to have access to click the top level menu 3 dots and select “Edit”.
On the left tab click “Channel Visibility”
Under this toggle on “Online Ordering Partners” and check the box for Stream.
Now you can go back to kea’s menu application to click “Next” to step to Step 4 to Check the status of your integration:
Click “Check” and all locations from Toast will be imported.
If you want to go back and edit locations you can do so by visiting the Settings > Location & Integrations when clicking the top right avatar.
Following this step, you’ll see items imported from that Toast Location.
Next, in the top right corner you will see a green “+” button. Click this to connect your Toast Location to the kea Voice AI.
A modal will appear to connect kea. Continue through and authorize kea once again. This will reload the AI to train on the menu for this given location.
Then you will be able to bind the Toast Location to the kea location found in your portal. For multi-locations, you can map kea locations to each Toast Location. If a kea location is missing. You can always go back into the kea brand portal at app.kea.ai. Make sure each location has an address.
From here you can click menus to add from the location when tying to a kea location.
Once you submit by clicking “Continue” you have now successfully added your menu as the source for kea AI. Now anything updated in Toast will automatically pass to kea for the Voice AI to know!
Editing Location connections
Adding new locations and connections to menu sources is easy. When creating a new location in kea, follow the steps above.
Inside the menu application, you can visit the POS integration connection by clicking your top right avatar and then click settings.
